What sealing rating do I need for outdoor robotics?+

IP67 minimum for splash and rain. IP68 if continuous submersion or pressurized washdown is in scope. IP69K only if the environment includes high-pressure, high-temperature caustic spray (food processing).

Do you test every unit or sample lots?+

100% continuity test on every unit. Immersion test on first article plus 10% random sample per AQL 1.0 inspection plan. Full 100% immersion available on request at additional cost.

Can the overmold be reworked if it fails?+

No. Low-pressure polyurethane overmold is permanent. If a unit fails immersion the entire harness is scrapped and rebuilt — we do not patch and reseal.

Which connector family for harsh industrial environments?+

Deutsch DT-series for moderate environment, Amphenol AT or ATM for industrial, Souriau 8STA for military/severe. Each has trade-offs in cost, mating cycle count, and seal type.

How long does the polyurethane overmold last under UV?+

Standard PU is rated 5-7 years outdoor exposure. UV-stabilized PU available for 10-15 year exposure. For permanent installs in direct sunlight we recommend mechanical seal connectors with TPE jacket instead of overmold.
